- Well, the only trick in wiring serial cables is that you have to remember that
- the RX on one end goes to the TX on the other end and vice versa. For example,
- one of the FAQs (can't remember which) shows the pin-out of the 4 pins on the
- HP connector. They are 1) RX (receive), 2) TX (transmit), 3) GND (reference
- ground), and 4) SHLD (the shield). Together with the standard pin-out for a
- simple, no-handshaking, RS-232 connector you should be able to make the right
- connections:

- ------- ---
- GND <--------> GND
- TX <--------> RX
- RX <--------> TX

- the pin numbers off hand and I'm at work right now...

- PS: Note that you can safely ignore all other RS-232 wires...this is the
- simplest possible RS-232 connection, the so-called "4-wire connection".
