- I have noticed a slight screen flash on my HP48 when it is first turned
- on (sometimes). It seems to me that this only happens when the HP48
- turns itself off as it will do if left unused for ten minutes. I suspect
- that there is a particular routine that gets executed after ten minutes
- of nonuse. When the HP48 is turned back on, the remainder of this
- routine is executed which I suspect returns the HP48 to the state it was
- in when it timed out. This is just speculation, of course. I've not
- tried to find out exactly what is executed at time out. But the
- symptoms seem to fit something like the above explaination. At least on
- my Rev D HP48, I don't seem to get the flash if I intentionally turn off
- the calculator. Is this true for others?

- P.S. I dont think that the flash has anything to do with batteries, as
- Daniel Tremblay speculated.
