- Sorry Gordon,
-
- The HP/Convex cluster program was announced on October 13 this year.
- In outline the cluster program enables you to buy either:
-
- 1) regular workstations (build your own "user defined" cluster)
- 2) "cut-down a la carte" workstations (take out the bits you don't need
- like monitors and multiple tape drives, but you still build your own cluster)
- 3) buy a prepackaged cluster from us in a rack that is fully configured
- (net IP addresses, choice of FDDI or enet, net monitoring sw etc)
-
- All the above give you the option of purchasing the most appropriate
- "cluster type" of software for your application.
-
- Current software partners are:
-
- Company SW
- ------- -----
- HP Task Broker
- SCA Network LINDA
- Sterling NQS
- Convex ConvexNQS
- ConvexPVM
- ConvexMLIB
- Parasoft Express
- ISIS ISIS
- Freedman Sharp Load Balancer
- Oak Ridge Nat. Lab. PVM/HeNCE (public domain)
-
-
- Option 4) Talk to Convex about the Meta computer, which integrates a
- Convex C series with an HP cluster for fast vector and scalar
- processing.
-
- Hope this helps,
- Your local sales or support rep should be able to fill in any details for you.
-
- Best wishes
