- adventure ;-) - don't tell me you don't like adventures :-))))).

- Seriously, the problem in most cases lies in the RESOURCE_MANAGER
- property of the root window. As explained in Doug Young's "The X
- WINDOW SYSTEM - PROGRAMMING and APPLICATIONS with Xt, OSF/Motif
- Edition" (a very recommandable book), pp. 50ff., the ~/.Xdefaults file
- is *ignored* if the RESOURCE_MANAGER property exists - and in most
- cases it will exist.

- You can specify the shell variable XENVIRONMENT to point to a file,
- which will then serve the same purpose as ~/.Xdefaults and will
- *definitely* be read by every X client at initialization time.
