- We have an HP Vectra 386-PC with a BIOS that supports an internal streaming
- tape device, but does not support an IDE hard disk we're trying to install.
- The disk is 212MB, 16-heads, and otherwise has a number of tracks and a
- number of sectors per track that doesn't fit into any of the few disk drives
- that HP supports in their "setup" program.
-
- I tried Ontrack Disk Manager 4.2 but it freezes the machine as at boot time.
- I tried the /o option on DMDRVR.BIN. The Vectra is running DOS 5 BTW. Will
- Ontrack Disk Manager 5.0 help?
-
- The HP BIOS is dated 1989 -- it seems pretty recent not to allow you to
- configure your own disk drive as you can on other PC's.
-
- I would appreciate any advice or suggestions from the net. Thanks in
- advance.
