  21. I started to see this problem 2 weeks ago when I connected a terminal
  22. to the serial port for the first time. I had the problem on and off
  23. for a week, then I disconnected the serial connection, and have not
  24. had the problem since. Someone mentioned a patch related to serial
  25. terminal connections and system hangs. Here is an excerpt.

  31.     4701-057356 : When writing to a port on which bi-directional data
  32.                   flow is taking place, the port transmission may stop,

  36.     4701-061135 : Heavy use of the serial ports on a series 700 may cause a
  37.                   system panic.  This problem has only been seen using slip

  46. I haven't tried it. I will be loading 9.0 soon so I thought I would
  47. see if that takes care of it. In the mean time, serial connects are
  48. not a frequent need, anyway ;).
