- I have two problems that need relatively immediate attention. Problem is,
- I haven't a clue to the solution.
-
- First: We have a Novell network running on a 386 server. We have a
- Hewlett-Packard LaserJet III (with PostScript) hooked into the LAN. In
- addition, we have a Macintosh IIsi computer with an Ethernet card. Both
- the Macintosh and the Novell LAN have Ethernet access to the University's
- LAN. Is there a way that we can print from the Macintosh to the LaserJet
- III on the Novell LAN? If so, what kind of equipment do we need.
-
- Second: We have a second LaserJet (model 500+, I believe) on the Novell
- LAN. It has been printing random circles on printouts lately. These are
- the kinds of dots (circles) you'd use to denote degrees Farenheit.
- Sometimes, these dots would also be filled in. Their placement is random,
- as is their size (between 9-12 points), and they seem relatively
- independent of the size or font on the page being sent to the printer. It
- does not always print the dots on the pages, though: only on about one out
- of six to nine pages. Question: What is wrong with the printer, and how
- can we fix it?
-
- Any help whatsoever on this would be greatly appreciated. If you can give
- us cheap and effective solutions to these problems, I will worship the
- ground you walk upon and think you're the neatest thing since the
- Veg-O-matic forever (or until next Tuesday).
