- I am trying to mount a NFS volume that resides on a network on the other
- side of a gateway. If I set up /etc/exports on the remote machine so that
- _ANYONE_ can mount it (ie. a line containing just the file system name) then
- my local machine can mount the volume:
-
- mazama /etc 151# mount savannah.wes.cascorp.com:/scsi5 /mnt
- mazama /etc 152#
-
- If, however, if I enter the fully qualified domain name into /etc/exports,
- I get:
-
- mazama /etc 153# !151
- mount savannah.wes.cascorp.com:/scsi5 /mnt
- mount: access denied for savannah.wes.cascorp.com:/scsi5
-
- Other things involving fully qualified domain names (like telnet and ftp)
- seem to work ok, so I don't think it's a name server problem.
-
- Is there something that needs to be adjusted in NFS to allow remote machines
- mount access, without giving access to the world?
-
- Thanks!
