- A couple of notes (from our hp9000/7xx collection)
-
- 1. The current emacs (18.59) works fine as distributed
-
- 2. We have had SERIOUS problems with gnu tar. I recommend you get
- gnu cpio instead. Its much cleaner anyway.
-
- 3. You may want inn-1.2 instead of cnews/nntp. inn-1.2 works fine on
- hp.
-
- 4. The latest rdist is available from usc.edu. It works fine on hpux
- (thanks to me).
-
- 5. The latest xntp3 can be gotten from udel.edu in /pub/ntp. It has
- hpux support.
-
- 6. You may want to try SeeTex-2.18.5 instead of xdvi. SeeTex uses
- native X11 fonts instead of trying to translate mf -> X in real time.
- This produces much higher quality (IMHO), and is much faster.
