- We are building an application that calls for storing scan images of hand-
- written documents on line. Because of corporate constraints, we have been
- told to do this on a VAX with an RDB database. Unfortunately, no one at DEC
- seems to know much about this, even though they do sell scanners. Does
- anyone know:
-
- 1: Can scan images be stored a records in an RDB database?
-
- 2: How much storage does an 8.5"x11" page require, at the minimum
- resolution required to allow a human to read the page when it is
- reprinted?
-
- 3: What is the lowest end DEC terminal that will display a scan
- image?
-
- 4: I understand that DEC does have some sort of document management
- system. Is this worth looking at?
-
- All replies appreciated. E-Mail responses will be read faster. Thanks.
