- I have owned an SX-64 for many years (7 in fact) and i have
- just gotten my first modem (commodore 1660 / 300 bps). (hey! it was
- free!) anyhow, i plug it into the back of the SX and plug the phone
- cord into the in jack, and the phone in the out jack. I boot up the
- terminal program (kermit 2.2) and then dial the phone number to the
- 300 bps modems connected to the mainframe on school with the phone.
- The mainframe answers and I hear a high pitched beep on the phone.
- I assume this is the carrier signal. However, when i type connect,
- the modem (seemingly) does not acknowledge the carrier.
- Help! I'm very new at modems.... can anyone offer any
- possible help for me? Thanks in advance.
