- Recently I 'put' a file onto ccocun.caltech.edu called "qe128". It's in the
- INCOMING directory and is a text handler come disk utility which some of us
- here in Christchurch NZ found useful. It's coompatible with RamLink and
- JiffyDos, too.
- But, alas it doesn't work! Why? Because when downloaded, the file ends
- at $69FF instead of $6800, and there is code that checks the end of file
- at $1210 and calculates a SYS address from that. Because the file is the
- wrong size the SYS is wrong and the program crashes into the monitor.
- So, what did I do wrong and how can I fix it?
-
- The program will run if the end address is corrected to 6800 and re-saved
- but thats a big hassle.
-
- I used PUNTER to transfer the file from my 128 to PC... then Zmodem to
- upload it to where I could ftp the file to ccosun. I also selected the
- binary option.
- Apologies to anyone who took this file to find it was faulty.
-
- Cheers - Kirk
