- Hello all,
-
- I've got a problem with a 3B2 600G. When I reboot the system, it
- passes diagnostics, then gives me this error.
-
- sc_comp_code = d000000e
- fc_status = 60
- I/O ERROR: disk=ID block=61794 count=512
- /unix: I/O error
- Not FsMAGIC: fsprt->s_magic is 1840672182 FsMAGIC is -48726496
- not a directory.
- EDTGEN: SLOT 1, CANNOT FIND FILE: (/edt/SCSI/edt_data)
- /edt/SCSI/edtgen: execution failed for HA in slot 1, device ignored
-
- From what I can figure about this message (and please bear with me,
- I'm fairly new at this) I've got a bad block in the area where /unix
- is residing. I can get the machine working by going down to firmware
- and booting /etc/system and generating a new /unix, but if I have to
- reboot the system again, I get the same problem.
-
- Once the machine is up(and it runs just fine) the hdelogger daemon
- does not log the bad block(I'm assuming because that particular area
- of the disk is only accessed at boot up). I've tried /etc/hdefix on
- block 61794, but the problem returns.
-
- My question is: Is that block number an absolute number or relative to
- the root filesystem -- the bottom line is: how can I determine the
- block number to pass to /etc/hdefix? Is there any other way to fix this
- problem or diagnose it a little further.
-
- Thanks so much,
- Scott...
