  22. Boy, this is really starting to get annoying.  Please do not bypass the
  23. atari.archive.umich.edu alias.  This is perhaps the worst advice 
  24. I've seen all year.  shavenyak is NOT the archive's host site. 
  25. It is merely a machine that allows ftp connections to the server
  26. that houses the archive.  It is not faster under normal circumstances.
  27. The other host that handles the split ftp connections is actually a 
  28. much larger and faster machine.  As a last but somewhat insignificant
  29. note, there are far more than two ftp lines to the archive.

  31. I would appreciate it in the future if all people not directly concerned 
  32. with the physical structure of the archive would stop making incorrect
  33. inference about it.  For every message you post here with incorrect 
  34. and/or stupid information, I get ~5-15 messages asking more questions
  35. about that which you've posted (thus creating the vicious cycle that I've
  36. grown overwhemingly irritated by).

  38. If you have a question about the archive, I would be happy to answer
  39. them via email.  There is little need to post things here.  I trust
  40. that my email address is sufficiently well circulated by now.

  43. please send me your snail mail address, so that I may send you
  44. a quarter to purchase yourself a clue with.
