- There are two possibilities.
-
- 1.) The nroff-clone by Bill Rosenkranz.
- This tool is available from atari.archive.umich.edu. It is only
- subset of the original unix nroff, but does quite a good job on
- manual pages. Bill also wrote a 'man' and a 'manpager' command, so
- can organize you manual pages as under unix. I believe the last
- version is 'nroff121b.zoo' and appeared on comp.binaries.atari.st.
-
- 2.) groff from FSF.
- Erling Henanger ported groff from the FSF to the ST. This is a
- full blown nroff clone offering more functionality the original
- nroff/troff combination. The preprocessors eqn, tbl and pic are
- also available. groff has backends for several output devices:
- ascii, TeX-dvi file and postscript. The diff for groff-1.05 are
- available from atari.archive.umich.edu, but when I looked through
- the diffs I didn't notice any Atari specific line of code.
- Therefore it should be too difficult to port groff-1.06. I don't
- know if the binaries are available anywhere.
-
- While Bill's works nicely under plain TOS, groff depend more heavily
- on MiNT, but I assume it would also run under plain TOS as long as you
- organize the pipes by through temporary files.
