  12. I seem to remember that someone on this newsgroup/interest list recently
  13. asked about the size of the Internet.  (Not that it has much to do with
  14. AppleII's, but I'm sure it was here, because it struck me as being a
  15. strange place to ask.)  Anyway, in going over some notes from the recent
  16. National Computer Security Conference I ran across the information.
  17. Within the last few months (the numbers are constantly going upwards at
  18. an accelerating rate) it was estimated there are 1.3 million host
  19. computers on the Internet, with an estimated 4.5 million total number of
  20. users.  Note that the low ratio between those two numbers implies there
  21. a lot of hosts with one or two or three users, e.g., individual
  22. workstations.
