- The first thing you will need is a controller card. Two popular ones are
- either the Apple Hi-Speed SCSI card or the CV Tech RamFAST SCSI card.
- Both of these are Direct-Memory-Access (DMA) and work with SCSI devices.
- The RamFAST is faster, and can access many more kinds of SCSI devices,
- but it also costs more.
-
- Another reported controller from Europe is an IDE controller, which would
- allow you to use a cheap IBM-style IDE hard drive.

-
- If you can afford it, I would recommend the ECON Technology "Pegasus" line
- of internal SCSI hard drives. Included is a power-supply, fan, and drive
- unit that replaces your regular GS power supply. They still require a SCSI
- controller card, but they fit inside your GS very nicely and out-of-the-way.
-
- Both SCSI controllers and various external hard drives are available from
- many of the advertisers in Incider/A+ magazine, and GS+. I recommend either
- Quality Computers or TMS peripherals who are fairly dedicated to Apple II
- support and their customers. With hesitation I will also name LRO Computer
- Sales; I have had success with them, but others haven't.
