- Please forgive this if it is a FAQ, but here goes....
-
- I have several apollos in a TCP/IP network. There are lots
- of other machines (PC's, DEC's, etc) on the same network,
- but I don't think that matters. I am currently experiencing
- "excessively long" delays in cd'ing to another machine's
- root directory. For example:
-
- cd //machine
-
- takes approximately one (1) minute, while
-
- cd //machine/etc
-
- takes less than a second (it's there very soon after I hit return).
- This problem also seems to slow up "root" login to the machine
- as all users (using sh, ksh, or csh) logins quicker than "root".
-
- Is there some network configuration that I am missing which can
- be changed? It seems to be some "timeout" problem. What can I
- do or look for here?
-
- Additional Information: These apollos are setup with a NCS global
- location broker cell (i.e. glob_obj.txt) and use Domain internet
- routing (rtsvc) to avoid conflict with some other apollos in
- the same Internet Domain.
-
- Please email and post responses - I do not frequent this newsgroup
- often but the information may be useful to others.
