- Yes there are a couple dozen titles of CD+G disks available. Most of
- them come from Warner New Media in Burbank, CA. If your record store
- doesn't carry any, or are too stupid to know whether or not they do
- (CD+G disks are normally co-mingled in with regular music CDs and few
- record store employees I've had contact with would know what CD+G wa
- s if it bit 'em on the ass) then cal WNM at 818-955-9999 and ask
- them to mail you a CD+G cataog.
-
- You can use CDTV "like an Amiga" because it is an Amiga. Before
- you set it up and turned it on, did you look on its back panel?
- Some of the connectors are not identical to what you'd find on a "real"
- Amiga computer but many of them are. You can buy a CDTV "professional
- pack" or whatever they call it which contains a floppy disk drive,
- mouse, and keyboard, al black. Or if you have an extra Amiga floppy drive
- you can hook it up to CDTV right now, the connector is the same.
- You can hook up an existing A2000/3000 style keyboard with a little connector
- cable/adaptor.. see your dealer for one.
-
- CDTV has a modified "custom" WorkBench 1.3 ROM set in it. But it's
- easy enough to boot a standard 1.3 WorkBench on a connected floppy drive and
- run regular Amiga software on a CDTV.. although ya gotta watch out for
- non-compatible stuff (mostly some games) and also remember that you only
- 1 meg
- of CHIP RAM in that puppy.
-
- There's a lot more to CDTV.. I could write pages on it. In fact, I already hav
- have :-). I used to review CDTV software for Info magazine. They (.info)
- went out of business after their April '92 (#49) issue but maybe you
- have the last year's worth of issues laying around or maybe a friend does,
- or if you don't perhaps there's a public library or a user group
- nearby who does.
-
- If you own an Amiga computer (any model) you can "network" your CDTV
- to it with some free software on Fish Disk #400 called "parnet"...but
- you hve to either make or buy the appropriate parallel port cable to
- connect the two machines.
-
- Any other questions, just holler. There isn't nearly enough good
- CDTV discussion on the net, far as I'm concerned.
