- the only argument is this:
-
- a lot of companies (electronic arts, origin, oxxi, aegis, etc.)
- do NOT give their customers proper upgrade information. what do i mean
- by this? 2 of the above companies (OXXI and AEGIS)
- have NEVER (and i repeat NEVER!!!) sent me upgrade flyers, notices, or
- any mention of an upgrade. i found out through the net.
- origin never sent me anything saying "since you bought ultima III,
- would you be interested in buying ultima IV?" i never got anything from them.
- and electronic arts can bite the big one. i will NEVER buy anything from
- them again since their upgrade costs are too high, lots of copy protection,
- and some of the games I have will never run again because they were coded
- for kickstart/workbench 1.0 and 1.1. I really hope electronic arts is
- listening. i have 20+ software packages from them. i have spent my own hard
- money buying the software. i can only hope some pirate out there is
- "hacking" away at their software now. All i know is that im using dpaint II,
- dvideo I, and dmusic I, and i dont plan on upgrading. maybe some pirate will
- come along my way and give me a copy. the software i bought for the amiga
- was bought when the amiga first came out (september 1985). i bought software
- in hopes that the amiga would have a good software base. i believe in buying
- good software. the above companies dont deserve an ounce of support. its
- really sad that good companies like word perfect are no longer supporting the
- amiga. i consider them one of the few, if not only company, which properly
- supports its customers by providing and announcing upgrade information, and
- provides very accurate, helpful, and insightful tips/tricks when you need
- them.
