- However, this is unlikely to be the problem. The serial port isn't that
- strange; it's mostly a matter of some extra signals being on some
- otherwise-unused pins. if you get a cable that only passes pins 2-8 and
- 20, you shouldn't have any trouble. (You need to get the gender right on
- the Amiga end, too)

- If you don't hear a dial tone when it goes off hook, and it doesn't dial,
- the first thing I suspect is that there's no dial tone available to the
- modem. You might make sure the speaker is turned on.
