- Normally, I'd agree with you... but as an A1000 owner, I think it
- is unfair that it IS possible to run 2.04 on my machine, however,
- Commodore has not seen fit to let me do so. All they would have
- to do is sell the operating system with an additional kickstart
- file disk and Zkick (or something similar). I cannot see any
- reason at all why they do not, therefore they condemn me to
- 1.3 forever. Is this supposed to be some sort of incentive to upgrade
- and toss some profit their way? If they want something from me, I
- certainly could give them a little profit by purchacing a new operating
- system, but I simply am too poor to buy a new Amiga right now.
-
- As far as the guy with the 500 goes, I can understand why he might not
- wish to try cracking open his machine and start pulling chips. Why
- shouldn't everyone who doesn't want to open up their intentionally
- sealed box be given another option that already exists. All it would
- cost Commodore is one additional disk.
-
- I'm really sick of 1.3. Also you can't just tell me I should go
- out and get one of those little kits that allows me to put the rom
- in my 1000. I've hacked this puppy a little too much, and anything
- more in the way of the bus would give it a permenant guru.
