  27.     I doubt you could get a machine with external IDE ports past FCC,
  28. since it's basically an straight ISA bus.  Also, the maximum length for
  29. IDE cabling (total!) is 12 inches.  Doesn't leave lots of room to put your
  30. external drive...  As george said, master/slave compatibility in the IDE world
  31. is a can of worms, and it is or was especially bad in the early/cheap 2.5"
  32. drives.
