  35.     Anyway my attempts on getting Spice for the mac to run on
  36. amax.

  40.     Now it's in hqx format 1.6 megs worth.
  41.     Compressing it (down to 1.1 megs) splitting it and  taking it home
  42.     joining and uncompressing.Would not uncompress. back to
  43.     uni and getting other uncompressors (this is a 
  44.      ftp<->UNIX<->IBM<->amiga<->Amax path everytime) Now those
  45.     uncompressors would not uncompress (them selves let alon another
  46.     program !!!) I get around to getting uncompressors. I find a
  47.     program that uncompresses binhex files on unix. (mcvert)
  48.     Use that get the binary home (same path including splitting
  49.     and lha compressing) Still no sucsess. It seems that along
  50.     the way the file type entry gets altered and the name of
  51.     the file does not show up in the requester. I also atempted
  52.     to get the file via modem 1.2 megs compressed to 1.19 megs with lha !!
  53.     and the on 2400 baud overnight. Still no success. I have managed
  54.     to work out all the problems though and I can now get everything
  55.     working for small programs. Spice though is still living as a
  56.     compressed file in my unix account because I have now finnished the 
  57.     subject I needed it for. Maybe during the holiday I'll bring it home !!
  58.     Other problems was going to mac support and the telling me I was not
  59.     allowed to D/L from the mac site stuff. only from america !!! 
  60.     Also trasfers from a mac to an unix machine and the problems that
  61.     arose with that. Let alone IBMS going dumb infected by virus
  62.     and macs refusing to show the file in requesters. To put it
  63.     mildly I am sort of going bold :-)
