  15. I'm posting this on behalf of my brother. He has an amiga 500, with a problem.
  16. Along time ago, coffee was spilt on the keyboard, we cleared it off and
  17. thought nothing of it. Recently most of the left hand side of the keyboard
  18. is completely refusing to work. So we took it to pieces and found that under 
  19. the keyboard is a very thin transparent sheet of plastic, with the keyboard
  20. circuit matrix printed on, it did not take a brain the size of a planet to
  21. see that some of the lines had rusted away completely. I tried to cellotape
  22. copper wire onto some of the connections, but it did not work.

  24. So we rang Commodore Technical Services and asked them how much a new template
  25. would be (quoting the part number), we expected them to say about 5 pounds.
  26. The woman on the phone very politely told us that it is not possible to get
  27. the part on its own, and we would have to but the complete keyboard unit,
  28. this she said would cost 105 pounds!
  29.  
  30. My brother is still at school and has no way of getting this kind of money,
  31. so is there anyone out there who could help? Maybe someone with a broken
  32. a500 that wont miss that particular part?
