- I think the real problem here is price/feature ratio. The A4000
- comes with IDE. e.g. no tapes drives, cdroms, etc. To upgrade
- to scsi you will need to by a Commodore or (GVP???) ZorroIII
- scsi card. Cost will probably be at least in the $200-300 range
- ( being optimistic even ). Most people bying the A4000 are long
- time Amiga users, having a A2000 or A3000 and have a sizeable
- investment in scsi peripherials. Also the A4000 is a workstation
- class machine with a workstation price. In the face of these facts,
- it is clear that Commodore made a fairly major blunder by not
- including scsi on the A4000. End-of-Story. We will now just have
- to get on with our lives. :-)
-
- One additional note: I hope the new scsi card will coexist
- peacefully with the internal IDE drive already on-board, else I
- will REALLY be pissed!
