  15. I hope someone can explain something about monitors

  18. I'm considering buying a 1200, now I've heard it will
  19. work on SVGA monitors, however as I understand it the
  20. 1200 has a number of different modes:

  22.     So according to my reviews the 1200 has the following 
  23. modes:
  24.     
  25.     1280 x 400
  26.     1280 x 200
  27.     800 x 600
  28.     640 x 690
  29.     640 x 480
  30.     640 x 400
  31.     640 x 200
  32.     320 x 400
  33.     320 x 200
  34.     
  35.     All modes offer 256,000 colours from a palette of 16.7m.
  36.     
  37.     Would a SVGA monitor be able to DISPLAY all of these, 
  38.     with/without flicker?
  39.     Would a multisync be able to DISPLAY all of these 
  40.     with/without flicker?
  41. Would the 'standard' C= 1084 monitor work ok?

  43. If anyone could explain what overscan and interlace mean,
  44. and what they would mean to a user, I would also be grateful.
