- Hey fellow Amigans,
-
- I know that this may not be the most appropriate group to post, but
- c.s.a.tech doesn't seem to get much traffic, and I really need an answer. I'm
- having problems with my serial port and about out of answers. I hope someone
- out in 'net-land can help!
-
- I have an Amiga 500 with 2.04, Super Denise, and a 1 Meg Fatter Agnus. I'm
- using an (old) Packard Bell 1200 (yuck!) modem (for how little I use it, it
- suffices). When I connect the modem to the A500's serial port, both the RD
- (Receive Data) and the SD (Send Data) indicators light and the modem does not
- accept any input (commands or data). The TR (Terminal Ready) is also lit so I
- know that DTR is set correctly.
-
- My serial preferences are set correctly. I've checked out the modem and
- cable on another computer (a PC clone - double yuck!) and it functions without a
- hitch. I've replaced both CIA chips and Paula (contains UART) to no avail.
- I've tried putting all the old chips (Denise, Agnus, Paula and even a 1.3 ROM)
- back in in various combinations, but nothing seems to help. The physical port
- connector seems to be okay. I'm out of ideas.
-
- Anyone with any ideas please post or E-Mail me at weaver@vitro.com. I
- appreciate any help.
-
-
- Thanks,
-
- Mike
