- I think that what C= has to provide us with is not more in the hardware end,
- but more on the software end. The Amiga is a single-user multi-tasking machine.
- It does not have the file protection levels like UNIX or multi-user features.
- This is what C= _has_ to give us in 3.1 or 4.x. I would like to see a simple
- sort of hardware for the Amiga which works with Amigas from the 500 to the
- 4000. Something that is rather cheap, maybe not so high performance, but is a
- standard which can easily be used and is affordible. So that User Joanne Blow
- can connect her A500 with the A4000 upstairs. Yes, a C='s own AppleTalk
- work-a-like network. For users that need to connect to ethernet networks or at
- high speeds let them look at a different level of networking. DOS networks have
- different levels of performance, not all of them tranfer at a 10Mb/sec why
- should all Amiga nets? If there is a cheap and easy standard like AppleTalk
- maybe we could see more games like RoboSport which use the A2065 (That's the
- ethernet one right?) for a multi-user game. That's something Joanne Blow might
- like to buy.
- Now is C= going to give us a AmiNet networking, and support for Multi-Users in
- the future? I think whether it will suceed depends if CBM does it or if some
- third party company tries it and doesn't get it right. There are several tries
- at networking the Amiga in a peer to peer way now, but none of these are
- standard.
