- Dear Netters,
- I recently got an Amiga 500 Rev 6a on my desk. As it had only 512k, I decided
- to boost it up a little, and found the nice, empty places named U20 to U23.
- Grabbing in my desk drawer, I found the chips, soldered them in, played
- with Jumper #2, and --- MAGIC --- had 1 meg of chipmem. But, alas, I also
- needed a Clock, so I got some sort of 501 clone, put it into the trapdoor,
- and.... nothing. Machine was dead. After reading some articles, I cut
- Jumper 7a, and the machine came up again, but: still one meg chip, and no
- fast (or better slow ;). When I got it right, then both (my four chips and
- the 501-clone) occupy the same memory area (either 080000 or c00000, depending
- on Jumper 2, and Jumper 7a just disables the trapdoor memory.
- Question is: I'd like to have BOTH: The additional 4 chips as 080000 chipmem,
- and the trapdoor as c00000 slowmem. Is this possible?
- Yours, Christian Treczoks (Treczoks@Rhea.Informatik.Uni-Bonn.de)
