- So you'd rather have mass confusion? (Which existed in the mac & PC
- world for several years.. and is just now starting to abate...
- (and you can get it from the company that makes it - $160 (I don't
- remember off the top of my head the company or part number)

- the report?"
- "Sure, here you are..."
- "Disk error? huh? Larry, is this a High Density?"
- "Yep... lemme copy it on a low density"
-
- I've had this happen *a lot*... I think C= _should_ not have gone to a
- HD floppy... go to a floptical, or some other device thats not
- confusable with a low density disk.. etc.
- Or at least something that doesn't go to half speed... the extra storage
- space is nice, but I think it was a bad idea, ESPECIALLY in light of
- what HAS happened to the mac & PC markets when HD floppies came out.
-
- This *is* a problem when you have 2 different formats such as these
- floating around..

- Of course they're not.. (until AGA) - that was a moot point....

- Well, yes. If you're going to go to a HD drive, go to it.
-

-
- Marketing? Surely you aren't SERIOUS.... ask questions? Find out what
- would sell? Surely you jest... (remember, the power-up deal was a
- mistake) They didn't even bother to look at history to see the problems
- HD & low density had when introduced into the PC and other markets

- P.S. - I was real excited when I got my 3000, and the 1st thing I did
- was put a high-density disk in the drive & format... which it did... I
- like having it... but I really wish that instead of going to the HD
- floppy (half-speed, and behind the competion by several years, that C=
- had gone to a whole new system... 20M floptical, for instance, etc..., 4
- M floppy, something....)
