- Possibly true but history has already recorded that the American
- people made a VERY grave financial mistake in electing Reagan
- followed by Bush. I didn't vote for either but I have paid and
- will continue to pay, along with many others, for their debt
- building orgy. B^(.
-
- Reagan was a smoke and mirrors pretty boy that convinced people
- to believe the smoke was solid. Bush wasn't much of anything
- really. My guess is Clinton will be an average/so-so President.
-
- Nothing left to do but let time pass and see.
-
- By the way, has anybody figured out that it doesn't really
- matter what the President does/is as their main job is to distract
- from the REAL power?
-
- As a practical matter, it is the congressional STAFF, who's never
- elected or reviewed by the public, that actually writes and pushes
- through laws.
-
- Most of the time our US congress critters just rubber stamp
- what their staff shoves in front of them. Who's President doesn't
- effect this MAJOR part of law making although it does effect
- the entertainment factor comming out of the white house and
- Washington... B^(.
-
- I found it humorous that Clinton said he wanted to reduce staff
- levels; HA! The staff will be able to immediately nix any legislation
- that would do this, they filter EVERYTHING a congress critter sees so
- if the staff doesn't like it, the elected critters don't see it.
-
- Maybe we should worry about the REAL problems rather than who's the
- current figurehead/chief entertainer?
