- I've had my 2000 on its side under my desk for a couple years
- without any problem. Two things to watch out for though are:

- - Cooling. Make sure you orient the machine so that the fan can
- work properly, i.e. don't have the fan try to pull air in from
- the top, down through the machine and out the bottom. Hot air
- doesn't naturally go that way, Make sure the fan is at the top
- pulling air *up* through the cabinet.

- - *Some* hard drives are picky about how they are positioned.
- Usually flat or on their side is okay but some may do ugly things
- if you run them upside down. Check with the drive manufacturer
- about this.

- A soldering iron and some parts from Radio Shack did the trick
- for me. I just made some "extension cords".
