- My friend has a 3000 connected to a 1960 and it works perfectly. I like his
- monitor because of the crispness and the high detail. I have a 1950, and
- his monitor has pictures that are a bit sharper and clearer when viewed in
- superhires. There are no problems that I know of with the 1960.
-
- From my personal experience, I can say only one thing. Stay away from
- Commodore monitors. Not that all of them are terrible, rather their
- quality control is questionable. When I originally got my 2000, I received
- a 1084SD with the computer, and the quality of the picture was and still
- is excellent. Since, I've seen various 1084, 1084S, and 1084SD monitors
- with much worse displays. Same thing goes for the 1950s and to my knowledge
- the 1960 monitors. Your best bet is to go for the Diamondscan if it
- supports the 31Hz frequency needed to have no flicker. Mitsubishi monitors
- are known to be excellent in quality (same with Sony so you may consider
- that manufacturer also). I've got a Sony 1304 and it was about the
- best investments in my computer system I've ever made. The picture is
- much sharper than those of the 1950 Amiga 3000UX at school.
-
- Hope this helps you in selecting a monitor...
