  13. Hi there netter's,
  14.           I have just got my self an A1200.  A quick machine 
  15. when compaired to my old A500 BUT a lot of software does NOT run on
  16. it.  In order to get more serious use for the A1200 I want to install
  17. a hard drive to it.  I have to choice of two drives
  18.  
  19.     1) A Microscience Int Crop (model HH-1050)
  20.     or
  21.     2) An old Seagate ST-238R
  22.  
  23.           My first question has to be ... which, if any, have an
  24. IDE interface ?  I have got a PSU that will do both drives and know a bit
  25. about electronics so making up cables is not that difficult a task but am
  26. I asking too much ... Can either of the above be linked to the A1200 (it
  27. is clamed to have an IDE controler inside) with just a cable ?  If this 
  28. is possable could some one E-MAIL me the pin connections ?

  30.           Provided the hardware connections go ok ... what has to
  31. be done to the software to make it "see" the harddisk ?  How do I format
  32. the disk (just like a black floppy) ?

  34.           The questions I have put here may seem very simple but
  35. as I have not got the FULL set of manuals with the computer I have no 
  36. circuit digm to go with !  So a full set of pin-outs for the 40 way IDE
  37. connector in the computer and the pin-outs on the drives would be a big
  38. help to solving this problem.
