- - The 1960 comes with a standard 15-pin VGA connector and works just
- - fine with PC's, includeing those from IBM...
- -
- Sorry, but the 1960 works terribly with the A4000. When I played with the
- machine at a local computer show, I tried the different video modes. Any mode
- other than the enhanced (A3000) ECS chips, and the screen was ALL messed up.
- The
- screen displayed either TOO TALL & TOO SKINNY or TOO SHORT & TOO FAT (Off the
- screen). Thinking that this might just be a problem with the 1960, the
- Commodore rep said, "That is normal!"... Sorry, but when I buy a monitor, I
- would like to use atleast <90% of the screen, and not have part of the
- workbench OFF the SCREEN. I even tried the overscan adjustment under 3.0 to
- correct SOME of this problem...with NO luck...
-
- Not many choices exist...
-
- One is the NEC 3FGx, if you can find one without convergence problems, or a
- muddy screen. I have a 4FG for my 486, and have deeply regretted it. After 5
- different monitors, I still have yet to get one that doesn't have problems.
- So much for NEC quality control.
-
- Another choice is the SONY 1403S monitor (my money goes here)
