- Config:
- Amiga 2000 rev. 6.2 with two internal floppeis.
- 2091 rom rev. 6.6 with Quantum 1.2Gig (nice stuff the quantum :-))
- 2 megs on the 2091.
- running 3.0 (39.29).
- (I *AM* a registered cert. so you had better point the muzzle away from me. Bes
- ides I *DO* stay out of the kitchen 'cause I cant stand the heat. more of a win
- ter person :)).
- Basically, The 2091 is not working properly with the drive.
- I had a conner 540megger before and it worked fine.
- The Quantum is a new breed of drive that the company is bringing out.
- Comes with 512k of cache (caches *both* reads and writes, active termination, s
- csi-II interface, high RPM, etc...). Only the active termination is really diff
- erent from the conner I had before. Also, the same drive seems to be working fi
- ne on a mac IIci. I guess it would be helpful if I told you what the problem ac
- tually is at this point, right???? :-). Very simple: Install 3.0 fine. Have 4 o
- r 5 partitions: WORKBENCH --> 15Megs, WORK ---> 200Megs, NETWORK ---> 400Megs,
- and ARCH ---> 514 (roughly). 3.0 will work fine for about 5 or 10 mins. After t
- hat, I start getting a bunch of checksum errors for WORKBENCH until the system
- can no longer access it (which takes about 10 or 15 seconds). Version WORKBENCH
- reports filesystem rev. 39.27. I hoping that someone from C= or anyone familiar
- with this problem can help. Will try to get this thing up and running with a G
- VP controller (at least will tell me if the 2091 is messing up or not). One mor
- e thing, I go to school full-time and go to work all night. Cant get a hold a a
- nyone at CATS (well, to tell you the truth, got hold of someone who told me tha
- t the platters expand due to temp diff. when you start the drive up and does it
- for a couple of hours, hence the checksum errors. Sounds really nice until you
- consider that my friend has the same drive (bought the same time) running fine
- on his IIci. Guys, this is really important. I have got to get this thing runni
- ng in the next 48 hours. Please mail or post the answer.
- If anyone from C= needs more info, please mail me at h18cc@cunyvm.cuny.edu and
- mcole@jpr.com. Check both of them several times a day.
