-
- Yes. The third is CDROM-FS from Canadian Prototype Replicas,
- also marketed in the US by Hypermedia Concepts.

-
- Asim and Xetec file systems are both supposed to be able
- to read ISO-9660, High-Sierra and HFS (Mac) format discs.
- Amiga discs are supposed to be ISO standard.
- Xetec supposedly includes software for additional support
- of CDTV discs, while CDROM-FS doesn't yet support HFS.
- Unfortunately, the ISO standard has many options, and the many
- producers of CD-ROMs have managed to exercise all of them.
-
- >How much are they?
-
- Street prices are about $40 for both AsimCDFS and CROM-FS.
- Xetec is about $10 more.
-
- >Has anyone out there had experience with either of them?
-
- I have both CDROM-FS and AsimCDFS.
- I haven't tried Xetec's software.
-
- The current version of CDROM-FS can read more of the ISO variants
- than can the current version of AsimCDFS.
- A new release of AsimCDFS is due Real Soon Now.

-
- Sony is also making double speed drives.
- Apparently they're only available in Apple Macintoshes for now.
-
- I hope this helps.
