- While never experiencing exactly the same problems you have, I have had
- difficulty with Syquests carts before (naturally). After I got SCSI Mounter
- most of the problems went away, except one. When I'd bring my Syquest to class
- (I have an external 88 M) it would lock up any machine I hooked it to. Turn
- off the computer, hook up Syquest to SCSI port (we have GVP's at school), turn
- on computer, it would execute the first couple of lines in the startup-sequence
- and then freeze. Someone noticed that the cable connecting the drive to the
- Amiga was the one usually used to connect the Macs we have to Syquests. After
- the cable was switched to a different one, everything was fine; so it was just
- the cable. I not sure exactly why one cable should make a difference over
- another but if i had to guess I'd say that not all cables have the same pinout
- configurations, maybe they're not carrying some neccessary ground wire or
- something.
