- Up until 2 weeks ago, I had been using the old (1084??) monitor that had
- come with my 1000 in 1985. Then I upgraded to a 1960 monitor, which,
- needless to say, looks _vastly_ better. (I think it is a 0.28 dot
- pitch monitor. Don't know what the old one was).
-
- So I'm much much happier with this new monitor, but there is just one
- feature of my old monitor that I miss. The old C= monitor had both RGB
- and composite video inputs. The new one lacks composite video inputs.
- I liked the video input because then I could use the same monitor as a
- TV set by attaching it to my VCR.
-
- Does anyone know of a source for a device which will accept composite
- video and put out analog RGB? I know there are expensive graphics cards
- from GVP that do video in a window, but I want something very cheap.
- Hopefully < $100. I also want to buy one, not build one. I have plans
- for such a thing, but A) it depends on a Motorola part which doesn't
- seem to be available any more, B) it depends on being able to make or
- obtain a custom PCB for it, and C) it would take me longer to make and
- debug than I want to spend. So I'd like to buy one. Does such a thing
- exist, and can I get one for between $50 and $100? If so, from where?
