  14. This is a standard interface that provides for peripheral devices of al
  15. er.. all types.  This standard is supposed to mean that modems, faxes,
  16. LAN adapters, hard disks and other things will be available for your 
  17. Amiga(and other computers) that are plug-compatible. This is sort of
  18. the IBM world's equivalent to AUTOCONFIG(C= trademark).  The plug-n-Play
  19. features make it virtually goof-proof and 'theoretically' you can 
  20. plug/unplug the cards with power on and a running system with no damage.

  22. The Association has two standards that cover PCMCIA:  PC Card Standard
  23. (release 2.0), and Socket Services Interface specification.  I believe
  24. they are located in Sunnyvale CA.
