- With all these _large_ limitations that IDE presents, I am even more
- dumbfounded by the lack of SCSI in the A4000 and inclusion of IDE.
- I would assume that the minimum set up for such a multimedia machine
- would be a HD and a CDrom. Will the A4000's IDE controller allow that
- setup?
- For me, a _minimal_ animation setup will be 1 HD, a 1/4" tape drive, possibly
- a Magneto optical, and a CDrom for texture disks. Will the A4000's
- controller let me do this?
-
- I am not trying to be a smart ass, and I am certainly not trying to be
- a Marc Farret, but I am just lost for any reasoning. I think the IDE
- in the A600/A1200 is fine, and certainly a neat solution with it all
- being internal, but a machine on the same level as the A4000 should have
- had a SCSI controller if not SCSI-II (Fast).
-
- Sorry for wasting bandwidth.
