- Huh?
-
- JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Engineering Group, and it is a
- compression standard developed by several different vendors. I believe
- the compression scheme is in the public domain. It is based on Discrete
- Cosine Transforms (DCT's) and is a lossy compression scheme. I suggest
- anyone interested look in the comp.compression newsgroup.
