  19. Very simple. If the BBS you are calling has some brain-dead software that 
  20. doesn't translate messages and offer the user the selection of his or hers 
  21. preferred character set, then you are stuck with the mix, since some people 
  22. use 7-bit and some others PC8 in the mail areas. GIGO. Some people insist on 
  23. calling such systems, strangely enough. Perhaps they do not know better. :)

  25. Me, I avoid slow ANSI and PC8 menus like the plauge, but that's a matter of 
  26. taste.
