- I remember seeing this question asked previously but I don't know if it was
- ever answered. What are the benefits of running the '030 version of Term?
- I was using the '030 version but erased it because I thought it was the
- cause of my file transfer problems. I'm still having those problems but I
- digress... I decided to start using a larger font on my screen and of
- course, noticed the output was a little slower. Will this improve if I
- switch back to the '030? I would try it myself but I accidentally erased
- my distribution disks and I'd rather know now then go to the trouble of
- d/l-ing those files to disk on campus.

- Next question... what determines whether a font is usable as systems text
- or screen text? I've noticed that when I try to change systems, icon, and
- screen text on WB, not all fonts are available for the different types of
- text. I've found this is true with Term also. I was surprised (and happy)
- to find that you changed the kerning (correct term?) for the fonts so that
- the text would line up but I've found that there are some discrepencies
- between font sizes. I'm using the LetterGothic font as my screen text for
- Term (I'd prefer Times but it won't let me and I erased most of the fonts
- from my HD so as not to clutter it up with things that I would never use)
- and I'm trying to find the best size that would use the entire screen, let
- me keep my interlaced screen and still be legible. I tried a point size of
- 17 but that proved too small (the characters were too tight). The next
- size of 18 is perfect column-wise but too long row-wise. I've noticed that
- the line spacing is pretty far apart. The slider on the terminal setting
- will not let me select a size of 24 lines (it uses max). I even used a
- smaller status line but that only gave me an extra line. I really don't
- want to go back to the regular topaz font 'cause it looks like crap
- non-interlaced but only takes up half the screen interlaced.

- PS... I still think Term's the best comm out there and have yet had it
- crash or had any problems with it that weren't my fault. I think my
- transfer problems are somehow linked to my setup/hardware 'cause I've had
- the same problem with JR-Comm (I had to really dig thru my disks to find
- it). But I don't understand how it could be my setup/hardware. I've tried
- booting off a no-frills WB disk with no background programs but that still
- didn't help. And all the settings/hardware setup I'm using now worked
- several months ago. This is not a serious problem for me right now since I
- can dump files onto a dos disk at work but there have been times when I
- wanted a small file while I was at home. I will try de-Imploding Term to
