  30. More likely it's a problem with ZIP.  This would indicate that ZIP files are
  31. not as tightly compressed as LHA or DMS files and so the modem is able to
  32. compress them a bit.  Since the LHA files are compressed beyond the modems
  33. capabilities, they go through as they are.  The throughput would be the same
  34. because the LHA files would contain more compressed data.

  36. Also, which protocols are you using?  Zmodem, Sealink, Xmodem, Ymodem?  The
  37. same on both machines?

  39. I remember the days when our UPI copy came to the station at 110bps!
  40. Aaaarg.  I still remember watching 300bps streaming across that 40 column
  41. C64 screen.  Gee, I thought that was so cool.  8-/
