- Investigate the following packages for starters:
- DMCS - reasonable musical notation and not too bad for MIDI output.
- no real-time MIDI input
- Tiger Cub - good introductory sequencer
- KCS - high-end sequencer
- MusicX Jr - good intro
- MusicX - closer to high-end but not as many editing features as KCS
- Bars & Pipes - good and close to high-end
- Bars & Pipes Pro - high-end sequencer
- MED - freely-distributable.
- Soundscape - obsolete. buggy.
- Midi Recording Studio - obsolete
- Sonix - poor MIDI support
-
- When you say "support" you are being a tad too vague. Exactly what do you want
- to do with your keyboard? What budget constraints are you working with?
-
- I'm happy with KCS Level II form Dr.T. Other people are happy with MusicX and
- B&P. In all three, the user interface varies greatly and it's largely a matter
- of user preference. Because of the large expense involved, you should try one
- at a dealer before you buy (or try to locate CURRENT demo copies of each).
- There are old demo copies of all available - be forewarned that to base a
- purchasing decision on these may not be fair since all of the product have
- greatly improved in the last several years.
