- Hello everyone. Although I have read this group for quite a while now this
- is my first posting to it, so please bear with me... :-)
-
- I have an Archimedes, and amongst other things enjoy listening to mods
- on it. However until recently the best mod player available for the Arc
- implemented less than half of the available Protracker effects. Not to
- mention some of the effects it did implement it did so incorrectly (eg.
- treating effect 3xx as a simple unbounded slide up/down which stopped
- even if the next effect was 300). So I decided to do something about it.
-
- I now have a player that plays almost all effects correctly (as far as I
- can tell). At least, Space Debris sounds a lot better than before... :-)
- However there are still a couple of effects which have me stumped for the
- moment. My questions are:
-
- - What is the difference between 4xy (Vibrato) and 7xy (Tremolo), and
- how do their parameters affect the effects?
-
- - What is the effect of the Glissando Control (E3x) on Tone Portamento
- (3xx/5xy)?
-
- - Effect EEx is described in the Protracker docs as "delay pattern x
- notes". Should this read "Break pattern after x notes"? If not, what
- effect does this effect have on the currently playing pattern?
-
- - What does EFx (Invert loop) do with the loop - play it backwards or
- something?
-
- Thanks in advance...
- Cheers, Julian.
-
- PS. Before I get swamped with requests for the mod file format, I got it
- from the docs inside a copy of Amiga Protracker I FTPed from somewhere...
