  13. TurboText (1.03) SetPrefs's ARexx command has a fairly complete control
  14. over the program's settings. Yet one of them is missing: Does anyone know
  15. if there is a way to change TurboText's screen colors, short of loading a
  16. preference files using OpenPrefs. This method is quite inconvenient,
  17. because it would require something like the following process:
  18.  
  19. 1) Store all current individual preference settings using GetPrefs calls
  20. 2) Load the file including colors definitions using LoadPrefs
  21. 3) Set back all saved settings from 1) using SetPrefs
  22.  
  23. Needless to say, this is pretty painful, since you need about 30 calls to
  24. GetPrefs/SetPrefs to save/restore the original environment.

  26. You might wonder why I am want to change the screen colors? Well, I am
  27. working with two monitors: a 1950 and a 2024. The problem when swithing
  28. from one to the other is that the colors used on the 1950 are unusable on
  29. the 2024, and the ones suitable for the 2024 look *ugly* on the 1950.

  31. Also, if someone has "magic" macros that will allow:

  33. 1 single click+drag mouse to select individual characters, double
  34.   click+drag to select words, and so on...
  35. 2 automatically arrange windows to arrange them at popup time, so that
  36.   the first open at the top of the screen, the second a tad lover, just
  37.   letting the titlebar of the firt visible, the third below the title bar
  38.   of the second, etc...

  42. Appart from that, does anyone know if TurboText is going to be updated
  43. one of these days? I heard Oxxi is not used to realeasing lots of updates
  44. to the programs they publish. I sure hope it's wrong, because TTX is such a
  45. nice program, though it is lacking some minor, yet important features
  46. (like multiple undo's...)
