  26. Would somebody care to try out my BaRe and let me know how it compares with
  27. the commercial software?  BaRe is a tape backup utility which uses double
  28. buffering, knows about links (both soft and hard) and was designed for
  29. automated backups (can be run by Cron, for example).  BaRe v0.40 can be found
  30. on nic.funet.fi - it doesn't support links but should give a picture of the
  31. speed and whether it works with a given tape drive (the latest version is 0.76).

  33. I'm going to release BaRe as shareware after adding a few more features to
  34. it.  BaRe works under 1.x, 2.x and 3.0.
